upper control arms

    call Team Z and be done with it......upr is good for a 12sec. car but if are making any type of power....wouldnt trust it...to many mixed reviews :2thumbs:

    Save yourself the headache and the time , just call Dave and TeamZ and be done with it.You know when you buy TeamZ, you can install it and never worry about it again

    Supposed to control and create less deflection as stated on the link, that sounds good to me and the price looks good too.
    Check out the suspension database in this section, more than a few cars running 8's using upr parts.

    Here are the uppers I offer. The upper portion by the housing uses 1/4 in. hardend steel with a 3/4 harded bolt for adj. It does not use the typical double adj. ladder bar style but has a center the dame as a lower with a small piece of 1 3/4 0.120 wall moly with solid moly inserts that butt together. The inserts are welded to the tube and there are two rosseta welds on each end as well. As close to indestructable as they come. The rod end is an XMR series rod end ---NOT the cheaper XR series) with a 3/4 main body but has a 5/8 hole so static load is increase to over 40,000 lbs.
    The rear box also has a busset on the bottom as well. 1-870-761-3238

    You're kidding, right? That UPR system mounts the control arms in single shear. You should never, ever, ever mount a suspension component in single shear. Unless of course you don't mind wrecking your car. There are 8 second cars with the normal arms by UPR, but you can't lump those in with this control arm abortion.

    I use the normal ones that come with the pro-series rear kit.

    Another great explaination Dave, thanks for all the help.

    I have a set of the UPR pro series at the shop with one in two pices. It was on a low 7 second (1/8 mile) car leaving the line at 6500. I witness another failure on a stick car that was running low 7's as well (1/8 mile). I will see if I can find it. Use to use it as a paper weight.
    Chinese steel is allowed 6-7 thousands of difference in wall thickness and carries a much higher carbon content. Thin wall plus high carbon equals failure at some point just hard to predict who or when cause I have seen 4 sec. 1/8 mile cars with UPR control arms and they have never had a failure so, go figure. I just wouldn't want to be the person who draws the short straw.

    Don't hate me because you made a stupid comment! :welder: If you want my help just ask! But dont ask me to bash on other peoples stuff on a public forum! I don't need to there are plenty of people out there willing to do it without my input!

    I stated that the link says it creates less deflection and that less deflection would be a good thing wouldn't you think? Or do you like deflection in your suspension?
    I understand why you don't get into it on here but you could have simply posted like Shane posted stating why its not a great idea without bashing.
    But instead you chose to be a cocky prick.

    I'm in no way a chassis/suspension expert, but I took one look at these and shook my head! I would hope that no one would put these on their car!

    Even if I would have answered like Shane people would have taken it as "bashing a competitor"

    Then you ask,
    Is that an honest question or an attempt to be funny?

    one thing I can say is don't mistake KNOWLEDGE as being COCKY!

    It's not my fault people choose to buy parts based off of colorful advertising or wording that implies that there is some knowledge based behind the parts!

    It obvious your a fan of the parts that is great! But you shouldn't try to imply that I don't contribute here by saying,

    This forum has filled up with "experts'' lately trying to sell their parts, so I just sit back and laugh... I don't try to push my parts, I don't have to, any part I sell gets tested on several race cars before it finds it's way onto my web site! I don't want to bash competitors, there is no need to!
    The only colorful phrase I say is, If your spinin you aint winnin!
