    Has anyone ever turboed one of these? :stupid:
    I just got one in great condition mechanically so, I want to punish it :doh: 76 Scout 4x4
    What do you guys think???

    I used to have a buddy that was way into Scouts. Seems like they overbuilt a lot of their stuff, so I wouldn't be surprised if it takes well to a turbo.

    Post it in the builds section if you do it!

    Keep the revs down, like 3500-4krpm down! If you get it over 4k it will be a time bomb for sure. Other than that, they are built tough.

    I will be keeping it low rpm,that being said witch jy turbo would work well? i have access to somme old truck turbs
    wouldnt mind if it spooled @ idle..
    these things just grunt & dont like to rev :bah: so time to boost it!

    What are you planning to do with it? Trails? Turn it in to a crawler? Drive it on the street with 18,000lbs hanging off of a 2"ball on the bumper? :)

    A pain in my friends a--! trail runs with my son,or just coffee runs with the top off,
    My other ride is a 1400hp pump gas 582bbc f2, & the work horse is a duramax that runs 13 s, what ever i drive gets a work out! :D

    OK - 345 CI - say .80 VE - 4000RPM redline - intercooled to 150 degree charge temp or so - 6PSI - means about 37lbs/min of air...

    Maybe something like a T-64? or T-66? 37 Lbs/min @ 6-7 PSI looks to be in a pretty healthy part of their maps..
