Of course I have, a 25 lb .50 BMG still kicks more than a 7.62x54R rifle. .300 WM has more kick than that weak sauce.

I have shot several .50s, and a lot of rounds in each, and none of them even kick as much as my -06. A 300 Win Mag has more recoil than a Nagant, really, no shit? A .460 Weatherby does too, imagine that!

I rarely post pics of what resides in my safe but I like TM.com so much that I try to participate in any gun threads here. So here you go. My attempt at gun porn.

I hope at least some of you are into machine guns. From top to bottom:

1- Reising Model 50 in .45 ACP with 30 round mag. Serious bullet hose.
2- Thompson Model of 1928 with 30 round stick mag and horizontal fore grip. I also have a vertical grip and 50 and 100 round drum mags for when the "Al Capone" bug bites me. Is there anything cooler than a Tommy gun? I don't think so, but I am biased.
3- M16 with a 7.5" barreled upper and Holo sight. She is by FAR the meanest of the 3.

And for the .50 cal versus 7.62X54R argument. I own them both. Here they are side by side with my custom made .50 BMG ammo transit chest pictured and loaded with some noisemakers. The Mosin M38 shown here kicks the CRAP out of the shooter. The Barrett model 99 is gentle by comparison.

That 54R cartridge is a beast in the little carbines the Russians put out. I have fired 100 rounds at a single range outing with the Mosin, I am most definitely NOT recoil shy. Having said that, the Barrett is a lot more user friendly than the Mosin. On July 4th of this year I put on a 50 cal shoot at my local range. A bunch of teenage girls showed up to it. They were ALL able to hit a gas grill propane cylinder at 300 yards with my Barrett. And they all did it again on the second and even third shots in some cases. The mighty 50 is an easy round to shoot in the Barrett bolt action platform. I was darn impressed with those girls. It made me feel really old. :(

The Barrett gives me a bit of a chubby.

When I don't have to work 14 hours a day, I will drag a couple of mine out to take a couple pics. Nothing as impressive as what you gents are rocking unfortunately.

Where did you go to get parts to build your 1911 Stangman? I'm interested in doing this myself. Guess I never really thought of building my own. I have been eyeballing a Kimber Custom for a little while but if I could build a contender for half the money, I'm all for it. Scratch that, believe I found some stuff.

I can see your side but can also see the other side of this, just as clearly.

At the SHOT show (quite a few years ago...) we saw a .50 BMG revolver with vids of people shooting them. We also made one guy a reamer to chamber a derringer to a 45/70 Gov., now thats an arm breaker.
Some where I have pics of the oldman's 1000 yard match .50 BMG rifles, he has a heavy and light class gun. At $4 a round reloading cost its just too rich for me.

For those that don't know the Shooting, Hunting & Outdoor Trade show is the SEMA of firearms... Been going since I was 16 (almost 30 now), good times.

    Nice outfit Paul. Real nice!

I will keep putting up pictures of mine when I get a chance. Nothing as cool as what some of you guys have here, but I cover all the bases.

Just wish I had more fun money to spend on items while we still can.....

I really REALLY like high end 1911's. But alas, i'm a poor college kid so the best I can do is a small collection of Kimbers, a few plastic guns, a very old semi-auto shotty, a .22 plinker, and one wicked AR15. Thankfully I have many friends with many more bad ass firearms and one that owns a gun shop here in TN with ANY gun pr0n you could ever want to shoot.

    Some of the hawtness....

All thanks to you taxpayers!!!! :D :D :D

I've done a lot of trading around to have what I do now. I'm constantly buying/trading/selling firearms, always with the goal to improve my collection. I'm trying to trade up into a Nighthawk or Wilson 1911. We'll see.....

I wasn't for a second talking about owning or shooting guns, just to be clear. I have a safe full of my own guns in the shop. I support gun ownership and firearm training. I just hate the fact that there are people who I respect, that are in a situation where they actually have to train there family to shoot for self defense. It's foreign to me (Canadian) and I can't imagine worrying about my daughters safety to that extent.

People don't get murdered in Canada? I didn't know gun control was working so well for you all up North.

Down here, yes we do still have criminals, so I chose to not be a victim. My daughter is 6 and is already in the gun culture because she will never be a victim either.

Yeah people don't get murdered in Canada. No crime up here. That's what I said.

Jesus Fuck guy, not every comment is a question of your manliness.

I know exactly what you mean...I can't fathom for a minute that a "poor college kid" needs a daily carry firearm...although it is a very nice piece.

I can imagine them needing it. I respect Scott's judgment and don't think he is the kind of guy to make a decision like that ungrounded. I just hate the fact that he is in a position to have to do that.

P.S. We bringing home the Grey Cup on Sunday?

If Canada did allow carry, it wouldn't matter what my budget would be i would carry a gun too just because i could and if i ever had a chance or needed it in a situation i would use it. Not that i really need it but would be nice to know i had it if the need arose

I have always loved old guys like all those WWII era ones from both sides. My dad is currently the holder of a collection started by my great-grandfather passed to my granddad until he passed and now my father has all of them. Dad has well over 500 pieces. He has every gun imaginable as far as I know. I think the oldest one he has is from some time around the American Civil War. He doesn't have gun safes anymore.... he has an arsenal room with steel walls and what is basically a vault door. It was built to be fireproof because he wanted to prevent the loss of all the old arms he has.

And someday, they will all be mine.

I have been trying to find a 11.5 barrel for my AR15
How did you got away with a 7.5 barreled upper?
    Is a legal?
