C head intake to B heads adapter plate?

Hello i'm new but i've been lurking around for a few months as a guest and i was wondering if it would be easy to make an intake adapter plate to run an intake off a C-head car on B-heads?

Yes i did use the search function but nothing came up similair just came up with head comparisons

The reasoning i have behind this is i heard the B-head ports are too big for their own good so if you put an intake on them with slightly smaller ports this would increase velocity because of a pressure drop going from a small area to a larger area i would like to have the ports blended so it wouldn't be like a large plateau directly above the intake ports.

More reasoning behind this would be that you could run 03/04 cobra lower manifolds to run the eaton or whipple set-ups on a B-head car. The C-head intakes are also easier to get ahold of lots more newer cars have them and they come with no IMRC plates which saves time and money right there. And you could run sheetmetal intakes like sullivan and whatnot. Plus B-head long blocks are cheaper and easier to come by that C-head engines and with B-head you get the venerable teksid block.

    Just wondering Thanks

I really don't see that happening. To go from a single port intake to a twin port head the adapter plate's would have to be at least 4" to 6" tall to make the transition from single port to twin port's and the B heads have one round port and one square port that are 3" from outside to outside. The machine work alone would be very involved and cost alot of money. This is JMO. Maybe someone else has some feedback on this. If it was that easy people like MMR would be selling them.

I would just stick with what works...don't try to make it more complicated.

There's an adaptor to run b intake on c-head but you can't do the opposite. These came in 99-01 continentale wich have c-head and b-intake. These spacers replace the IMRC plate.

Why are both ports round.? B heads have one round and one square port.

I actually know of a guy that is working on adapters to fit a 302 intake on B heads. He is done with the first concept, and is in the process of getting them made to put on a car for the first test run.

wow i didn't know that about the continentals could a b-head guy pick up a continental intake for a horsepower gain or are they more of a restriction than anything else?

The Mark 8 Lincoln has relatively small-diameter runners, design to maximize performance in the 1,500/5,000RPM range.N/A application
This would be suitable for a car equipped with an automatic transmission, but it would hinder performance in a manual -transmission application.
No suitable for a turbo application

So is it worth it to pick up a set of Continental heads for a turbo application? Twin port or Tumle port which is better? I have a set of both sitting on my garage floor..

Yes there is a set of adapters to mate a c intake to a setof b heads. I know this for a fact because I designed them and a friend made them for me. So far in testing the car runs like raped ape and show no ill effects. These are on a 98 Lincoln motor with a Sullivan intake with carb and blowthru. I'm sure they would not be real cheap but could be duplicated if there was enough intrest.

Ok then here it is, the top side of the plate has the c port size and the bottom side is opened up to the complete b size and I ported the heads out so there is no flat divider between the ports

You can see here the right side has the plate under the intake and the left has the old IRCC plate
