The rags aren't worthy of most of the cars on here.

So is that a solid mount motor? I'm sure it is, but I was wondering how that worked out with the turob mounted to the frame rail. I see there is a flex pipe on the one crossover, but what about the pass. side? How do you control the flex?

x2, Rob, nice work. I checked out your build progress as you got the setup together, looks good. I noticed in the article they said you grenaded the 9-inch, they listed it as a FAB9. It also mentioned that you were thinkin' of changin' transmissions, is the car light enough for a 'Glide? What are your plans on both?

    Hey Temio,
yeah we hurt a HD 9" pretty good here is a video where the rearend explodes at vegas
    http://www.vimeo.com/2360479
what we didnt know was that after this the housing ends were pinched so hard that it ripped the metal away from the perches like a tuna can
So i put a fab 9 in it now. the article is a bit off about that.
So it currently has a fab9 now and a backbrace and its been perfect.

I went threw about 6 high dollar rebuilds of my turbo400 transmission.
Mind you this wasnt a stock turbo 400 that i was trying to put 1500hp through.
it was A HIGHLY modified trans, had a aftermarket pump, billet input and output shafts, upgraded drum, and additional clutch packs in high and second gear, along with NUMEROUS HD sprag comonents. I just couldnt get them to live. I think the longest one lasted 6 passes. Fluid wasnt getting too hot (180 was the peak) convertor and cooler were flushed every rebuild and the alignment of the shifiter was DEAD on.
So i have went to a ATI superglide2 and have made probably 12 passes on it and its perfect (and faster) so im very happy with it.
I think i posted a couple of new pictures of the pt106 and a/w ic conversion i did to the car in my build thread.
The car weighs around 3300# with me in it so it doesnt fall under the 3k # rule for a glide, but it makes so much power that it seems to do much better with it.

Flipped sprags, would slip 2nd and or high gear clutch pack, with and without the extra clutch disc

very nice car! I built my first turbo kit for my 94 my senior year in highschool, 2nd kit was built my freshman year in college, and now I am putting together a LS motor and getting ready to build a kit for it again (my sophomore year) :2thumbs:

However, after looking at your car, I think I may have to wait a little while, save some more $$, and do it once and be happy with it until I am done with this college thing. :bang:
