Im in the process of assembling a stock ls1 for a buddy of mine, hes looking @ 550rwhp at the most.Thinking of twin mp t70,th-350 gear vendors od ,12bolt 3.23 ratio. All of this in a first gen.
He has the stock computer & harness, looking at the simplest set up for simple minds :stupid:,this is my first attempt @ fi..
What twin set-up would best fit his needs? 550hp now but i know him that will eventually doubble ,so a detuned set up Please
    thanks Mike

It should be do-able, there are a few guys around here with STOCK ls1 f-bodys with STS kits making about 470-500rwhp on 9psi.

twin MP T70's are way overkill for those goals. You can and should go much smaller

Yeah each MP t70 supports over your goal.

Twin 60's or 67's would be better suited.

Well you said knowing him, he will probably double the output so twin MP-70's arent that bad of an idea. The only thing I'd be concerned about is compressor surge as he's going to have to operate them at/near the surge limits of those turbos to keep power output down so the stock LS1 can live.

depending on the motor build itself, there are many smaller 60mm type units delivering massive power. Now I'm not sure how believable this is, but on planetlsx.com, there is a twin turbo 383 LS6 with twin 54mm units making 9xx whp. I didnt think a 54mm unit would support that much

Some are better than others but lots of HP still made with FI and stock intake.
The 90mm TB seems to be the main advantage that some of the intakes.
The BBK seems to be the best bank for the buck for FI.

RPM is the main difference if going single plane. They will make more power above about 6200 where the stock long runner intakes peak even with the bigger cams.

I'm planning on a 6.0 with L92 heads and a stock intake with a custom cam and twin 61mm's.
Will make 1k hp according to all the internet posts...
I'll cnc the heads if I have the extra $1k. I had a 69 Cam that it was going in until I lost my garage space due to a relocation to socal. Not changing the motor plans....just what it's going in.
