As my build gets nearer to completion I figured i'd make a thread here finally showing my progress and see what you guys think. I still think the car wont be started until mid June at the earliest but we'll see. Depends on how soon the motor gets finished at the machine shop and how long it takes me to do the rest of the build.

Anyway here is my setup at this time.

401" small block chevy. Dart SHP block
Callies 3.75" crank, Callies Compstar rods, JE dish blower pistons
    9.0 to 1 compression
AFR 195cc Eliminator heads, 65cc chamber
Mike Jones 233/233 on a 112, .564/.564 lift hydraulic roller
Victor EFI intake with custom sheet metal elbow, LS1 throttlebody
    80lb Siemens injectors
GM '730 ecm from 91-92 camaro running cyclone/typhoon code $59 for now

Custom fabbed manifolds by me. 1 3/4" mild steel piping, T4 flanges
Twin Master Power T60 turbos, .68 turbing A/R
    JGS 40mm wastegates
    50mm Tial BOV

Treadstone twin turbo intercooler..the biggest one with 9" tall core. 2.5" inlets, single 3" out.

TH400 trans. Not sure of the converter yet, thinking 3000 stall since its a driver and motor wont be turning too high rpm

Looking to make 650-700 ish whp on street. Would love to see closer to 800 on good gas on race day. Sound feasible? All my math calculations seem to show these turbos can do around 95-100 lbs/min at peak. We'll see

    Manifolds, they will get coated

Got the elbow today... requested a 3" height rise to clear the water neck but turns out i could/should have went with 2" rise like i was going to. Oh well. Will need 4" cowl i think to clear

Nice! Your 650-700 HP goal is in the bag easily on pump gas. I have a similar short block combo and think I am in that range with no IC and 8 PSI. How much boost do you plan to run?

    Keep up the good work!

I dont know how accurate the turbo match calculations are, but I hope for atleast 850 hp at crank with 15 psi boost. I think that may be possible. This motor I would hope would make 430-450hp n/a and 15psi should double that.

I would be very happy with mid high 9's at near 138-140mph. Its a roughly 3475lb race weight, so it should be feasible.

From the turbo size, and comparison to other flow maps, I would think these turbos could flow 55lbs of air each at a pressure ratio of 2.55 and boost somewhere between 20-22 psi on my 401. That should be good for 1000hp crank which is ultimately something I wanted to achieve with the help of some race gas and/or meth injection to be safe.

On the street i'll probly try to run 7-10 lbs and that should easily match my last years best ET's of mid 10's at 127-128 mph, around 500-520whp.

I do not have any bracing for the turbos. I am not sure if i'm gonna do it or not. They are something like 19lbs each but I do have mild steel headers and not very thick. I may decide to weld a rod to the manifold and put a hole on the end to bolt to the head or something.

Finally recieved the dart SHP block and rotating assembly today. Got my hood to clear the intake on sunday... its a harwood 4" fiberglass hood.
Ordered a PTC converter for the Th400 trans and that should ship out the end of this week.

Fuel system should be completed this week and i'll get to installing that this weekend I hope.

    Its getting there now :)

Shortblock assembled. Here is a mock up so far. Gotta start cam install today and proby finish tomorrow. Pickup fuel system tomorrow evening and hopefully have motor into car this weekend :)

Anyone know what the factory spring rating is for the JGS 40mm wastegates?? I hope its between 5-7 psi so i can start off with that while i tune

I HOPE to have it running mid July and ready to race end of july. Couple of buddies set a track date of July 25 or so and want me there. I will do what i can to get it done in time but its proby gonna be on low boost for awhile. SHould be good for mid 10's tho I hope even on the lower boost

Anyone else have any predictions of what kind of power this thing can make on pumpgas? How much boost can i run on the pump gas with some meth?
