I am attempting to repair a cracked block in a 1999 Cummins 24 valve motor. The block is leaking on the right side of the motor just below the machined surface where the soft plugs go in. I was thinking of trying some kind of JB weld or something. I think I can pop the soft plugs out and get to the back side of the crack so that I could coat both sides at the same time. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what kind of a product might be the best to try? I hope this is in the right forum, if not, mods feel free to move it where it should go. Thanks in advance.

    how long is it?
If less then 1.5 inches you could run a quick cast iron weld.

Devcon makes some good products, better then jbweld.

Try some k&w block sealer, had a 454 that would leak water in the oil and it fixed its problem completely , good stuff IMO.

The crack on this thing is almost 13 inches long. Someone previously had tried to weld it and made a real mess out of it. There are several holes burned through it big enough to stick a pencil through. Never heard of devcon, will check it out.

I used to work for Honda, their fix for a porous leaky block was jb weld, and that's straight from honda themselves. So one of those filler/puddy materials should work fine.
