Bought a Strange setup from Dave a few weeks ago and this is NOT a bash Dave thread or anything. Dave was very helpful. When the parts came in I pulled everything out of the box to inspect and everything looked good except these two bearings. One was in one coil over setup box the other was in the box for the other coil over kit.

Look at the pictures. Is the one on the right ok to use? I don't think so but want to make sure before I stick this thing together. IF it its not I will get another. Like I said. The boxes were sealed from Strange so I know its not Dave's fault. I just mainly wanted his input along with everyone else's.

The bearing on the right looks like its missing a "cap" or something to hold the rollers in. I have tried and I cant get any to fall out but I still don't like it.

Kinda hard to tell, but look like it's missing the piece that goes under the rolled lip. Sure if you call him up, he'll have another drop shipped to you from strange. I get stuff like this from companies sparatically.

I agree, it looks like its missing a piece I just want some more opinions before I start to put it together and find out I didnt need to use it.

did you get anything else with the bearings like the flats that go on both sides of the bearing?

Yes I got the two flat "washers / shims" that go on each bearing.

I've been wondering, are these available at a local parts store? Any part numbers to cross reference? And are these pretty much the same size for all coil over kits? Looking at the torrington bearing and flat/guide plates.

The NAPA I used to work out could get them. Not coil over specific but we had a bearing book we could look everythign up by size etc. Vato Zone or Avalanche Autp parts most likely wont even know what your talking about if you ask for a Torrington bearing.

If you just look up a local bearing place to you and bring in the old ones they will have them. I have never had a problem getting them so I am assuming that they are fairly common
