You should put up a pic of the motor mount you are using and where it is hitting. Maybe someone here can come up with an answer for you. Maybe try different mounts?

I know how one thing can get you down. Maybe some extra ideas will help.

    very easy to get motivated-

i have a cup of coffee and get my diary out and do a list of what to do-

tick it off 1 at a time and you will feel good that you dont have to many steps to go-

if that dont work-just think on how much money you wasted -

You just got to get in their and just do 1 job- :welder:

A good buddy which likes cars is good to have-

I am hanging to get my car going but i am on satge 1-thats buying parts

stage 2 is putting it together-

You seem to be at stage 2 so you are nearly their...........

if the fastest thing around was a 12 second ride, that'd have me super pumped! lol. Around here we're dealing with mid to low 8 second cars as the fastest things on the street :'(

Can't you just grind the mount where it is hitting? The mount looks strong enough to handle a little grinding.

well guys, I got out a notebook today, and started making a list of what I want to get done each day
I made it 3-4 small tasks each day. My goal is to have the turbo kit (minus downpipe) done by the 18th, and have my interior back together by the 20th.

It'll involve some working my butt off on the interior part, but, its doable!

For my passenger side, I think i am going to take the header to a shop, and see if they can add like an inch to it. This would be best, save me time from having to cut/weld (i only have a flux core anyways, been looking at buying a welder, but still no point only time i would use it is to make my kit lol)

Otherwise, I am going to try grinding down the mount a little, because when I swap out to my madman solid mounts, they wont interfere anyways.

I am in the same boat!I have a1966 Vette with a ls1 ,4l80e,yank sc3000,twin precision ball bearing turbos blabla bla.The car is about 80ish%finished but so am I.I have99.5% of all the parts to finish the car but just don't have the energy anymore.I hit 40 and said that's it.I have had the car up for sale or trade on the corvette fourm but can't get my price cause it doesn't run yet.I have a buddy with a twin turbo gts viper that's turn key but seems the car god wants me and this prostreet Vette to stay together!

I never used to have a motivation problem with my car. That is until recently. I'm not entirely certain why. I have most of what I need as it is. Hell, I still haven't put the motor into my car. It sits in the garage to this day. What I need to do is get that bad boy in there, lol. I need to pick up a set of those solid mounts as well. I'm certain I'll need them.

I need to get the damned engine into my car.

That, and I need to get it painted.

    kansas haha

as for where the motor mount hit, i had to end up taking a ball pin hammer to it a little bit. Dented the pipe about 1/16" in about 2" wide to clear the mount. No biggy though

oh for focks sake you little want-a-be please! :stupid:

you know i've helped you and give you advise when nobody else would talk to you, listened to your storys and not said anything but to say something like that?!?! you don't have a clue whats in this town. just cause your not "in" with the fast guy crowd, doesn't mean they don't exist.

you've made alot of progess from your first build, but you aren't going to make anybody but the imports on wanamaker look stupid.

you think your going to be the fastest here? i got 5 bills says other wise. get it done, then time, place, cash, bring it!

in fact i don't think you'd make it around hal's vette..

ive already ran faster than hal's vette with my first kit.

Will i be the 100% fastest, nope. I know barry would slaughter me, unfortunately he never gets his car out, and he very rarely takes it on the street. Webb would too, but once again, he is a track car. My car is being build for true street series, and around here, should be one of the fastest cars. John, talk shit when you get YOUR vette done....but that'll be another 5 years from now.

I already ran 10.59's in my car, what'd hal run at power tour? 10.80s right? and dont give me any shit that "well, his is also an autocross car" doesnt matter, it runs what it runs, my car is a purpose built car and it ran what it did, which if i remember was faster than Hal. I know its faster than AJ's cobra was, and from previous time slip comparison, its faster than shauns gt.

You know what my turbo is capable of, and i have a lovely set of billet rods going in thanks to a buddy of yours, along with some new mahle pistons.
You odnt know everything thats been done with my car, and my turbo is getting sent out in a week for a nice upgrade as well, so if my turbo NOW isnt enough, in a month when i get it back it sure will be. IIRC it'll also be bigger than the one you have sitting around for your vette.

I may not be "IN" with the fast guys here, but i do have plenty of low 10, high 9 second buddies, and have built four different cars this year that sure have dynod nicely.....oh, and by build, i mean ive done all the suspension work, ordered everything for the motors, and put the longblock together minus machine work.

I may be young, but i DO know what im doing, and i have also been around cars long enough, hell, i worked at two different shops working on cars.
Oh, and like AJ, i do have a deeper pocket book than most people my age....

yeah, i guess you for got the we have 8 second drag radial cars and stuff here..
thats what i meanyou know at some point barry and tim have even raced each other on the street, thats what i mean you not in the "know". thats what pisses me off is you just make a blanket statement "that there's nobody fast around here" like your the end all be all. you know, nobody has built car in topeka before you came along.
my vette will be done when i want it to be, could be this summer, could be in 4 years, it just depends on my mood. (ever think it's not my only car either) unlike you i have been doing this for 20 years and have "been here done that" and nothing to prove. i sold the firebird cause i was bored with whats around, and have other very time consuming hobbies like my boat that are alot more fun for me at this point. you take me up on my call out and i'll be there w/a car. it's not like your to the point of tackling a car like the ones i built 10 years ago with old junk parts.

this is what i hate, real cars race in person, they don't race timeslips you have from far away tracks in distant lands with no witnesses and refuse to race here.

post it up and give yourself credibility and i'll shut up.

who? what shops, and who's cars?
besides on the internet who? the internet is like Dungeons & Dragons, you can be who ever you want to be, and get to know lots of poeple. but it gives you no credit with the people.
hell if your pocket book is that deep come why waste time, come on over and i'll sell you my 101, gate and everything to make it work.

for everybody reading this pissing match thinking i'm a dick adam came to me when nobody else would talk to him, everybody told me he's a story teller and talks trash. he seemed like i nice kid so i defended him even to my own friends, anwsered his questions on his first build etc., then he burned me, i'm sorry i didn't listen to other people.

First off, i dont know how i ever "burned" you. Ive never talked shit on you, but you sure like to stir the pot, A LOT. If your talking about the whole TL1000S, i told you that i woulda had it for you to look at on a specific day, you showed up what? three days before without any notice. I fail to see how that is "burning" you.

lets see, ive build a 85 iroc with a 406, dynod at stagmeyer? porting
just finished up a 88 LX 5.0 couple weeks ago with a gen 1 383 for a kid at olathe south, not dynod yet
did a 2000 LS1, heads, cam down in pittsburg, dynod at pitt state university
currently working on a 88 supra turbo with a T70 for a good friend of mine
just finished the turbo kit for my car

and as far as being on wanamaker, you know that the statement i made is correct, the FASTEST car out there is meeko's neon
