No the bottom 2 pics are just what I am going to build. My car is an LT1 so I cant keep ac since it mounts down low.

Ill try to keep it updated. The motor is getting pulled after i get all my measurements, then I will paint the engine bay probably more towards spring.
Over the winter I am painting the intake, block, accesories etc. Also building the hot side.

I had some more time today. I got all the engine harness, body harness out. Also I got the FMIC mocked up.

Next is pull the motor and prep the engine bay for some new paint!..I am also contemplating cuttin the section for the front plate out so I get lots of cold air flow through the front mount!

Thanks guys, I think I am gonna pull the motor this friday (november 7th) And get in the stand and start painting the engine and add a -10an Drain in the pan. Also I will slowly prep the engine bay. (then the car will be stored for the winter).
Over the winter I will gradually do my hotside build. Im gonna go with Patriot 6inch shorty block huggers. 1 5/8s, then build the hot side hugging the motor.

If you decide to cut the lic plat mount out, you'll have to brace the lower section of the bumper/gfx somehow. Otherwise it will start to sag down in the middle. I'd brace it first, then cut it so that you know it stays in the correct place.

Sweet build man - tube k-member or fighting around the stocker? Guessing stocker from your a/c comment. I've seen several guys on here running those ebay SS turbo headers. Cut the T4 flanges off and weld a v-band on. They seem to fit very nicely, w/o having to swing upwards towards the hood like flipped block huggers. They're cheaper than buying the SS pieces to build headers.

I'll second that on the headers. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go that route.

Im gonna try to stay stock K-member for the time being, just bc funds at the moment.

Also I dont think the ebay headers will clear my alternator on the LT1 otherwise I would think of them, and I heard of issues with the steering linkage.
IM on the fence of buying the 6inch tall shorties or getting someone to build me proper headers that will look good.

I got my custom cam spec'd today, gonna wait till i sell my injectors or current cam then buy it.

    Comp Cams
    230/236
    .544/.555 on a 1.6
    114LSA

That should do the trick :)

From looking closer at the pics you may be right about that alternator mount and those headers. I'd spend the money and go custom. I stick to the slogan, "if you can't afford to do it right the first time, can you afford to do it again?" - As for the cam, the numbers sound good, but personally I stay away from 1.6 ratio rockers unless going to shaft rockers. Higher ratio sbc rockers take a bad valvetrain geometry and make it worse.

If you haven't already bought the LS-era front brakes, you might want to look into the '96ish 13" vette stuff. It's lighter and about the same braking performance. Not sure if you're on thirdgen.org or not, but check out the conversions done by ebmiller over there. I did mine myself, but same set-up. I've only got a few hundred bucks in the complete build, using all new parts.

miller's set-up fits the stock wheels. I haven't run them, but I'm sure I could clear skinnies with at most a 1/4 spacer. - That's cool though, the LS stuff is nice and works great. Hey, anything is better than the stock crap these cars came with. - You got stock rear discs? If so, PBR alum caliper or the older 154 pad(almost the same caliper as the front)?
