The bellhousing is the same except there is one bolt hole missing behind the #8 cylinder. Its right next to the cylinder wall so dont try to drill/tap it or you will scrap the block. The only other thing is the converter snout to crank depth is different. If you use a standard 350/400 converter (assuming you have a turbo spline input shaft) you will have a gap between the converter and crank with the converter bolted to the flexplate. You either need to get a custom converter built for this swap or use a adapter that just sandwiches in between the converter and crank. Here is a link to the only one I know of.

We are using a powerglide input shaft and converter. This transission was used on a gen l sbc in a 92 s-10. We are trying to convert to the gen lll engine.

Well all the info I gave you still applies. Just get that adapter or a custom converter and your set.

If you buy TCI's flexplate, which is expensive, but very nice, it comes with the pilot extension for the converter.

and if it has an ultrabell. you will have to do some clearancing on the inside of the bell for the rear cover bolts

well it doesnt have an ultra bell on it yet we have another transmission that will be getting an ultra bell once we start making more horsepower. at this point we dont have the horsepower output to need anything like that unless this one craps out. then ill have to put an ultra bell on the spare trans or re-case it

Just a side note... The early 6.0's wich only came with auto's and 4.8's with manuall transmissions had a crank with a longer rear snout. I believe it stuck out roughly 3/4's of an inch longer. I think those set ups work with the early turbo trans with out a need for a spacer. Ironically they are less desirable since those early 6.0's came with Iron heads. and the 4.8's with the longer snout can only be used with the early Manual trans in fatory applications and will not work with the 4L60E Auto...

Check this artical out. Tells about the early 99-00 cranks with the longer snout.

I would recommend changing that to turbo splines while it's out,
