Doing a bit of tuning on Monday.
cranked out 1495.6 hp at the rear wheels on a chassis dyno still smoking the tires. Chassis dynos are scary!
Those triple ball bearing turbos kick some a$$.

    Vid is here http://www.compturbo.com/files/CT3B.MPG
    Graph pic attached.

WOW, good job that is huge power! :2thumbs:  What kind of setup are you running? How much boost? That's going to be some serious 7's there!
Oh and by the way the vid link doesn't work for me. Not sure if its on my end or the link is bad???

    Fixed the link, Thanks Saywhen.

If you look toward the back of the car on the vid you can see the tires blowing rubber up in the air. We had rubber all the way out into the parking lot.
The vehicle speed was off by 30% due to tire spin. The dyno was just calibrated a few days before and the mph is very accurate. Its very safe to say the power reading was a bit low also due to tire spin. I really had to ease into it to even get a reading.

As far as setup.... 8.2 deck height 363 cubic inch small block ford with twin CompTurbo triple ball bearing turbos.

    Thanks DrLee50 and Blown331hatch.

What happens after 7300 rpm when the power drops?

    Blown331hatch,

As much as needed to run consistantly between 6.95 and 7.05 in the quarter m ile. I won't stop until I get there.
The motor will easily take 38-40 lbs, already has.

    CutlassRacer,
On that pass the air fuel was waaaay fat at approx 7100+ and I needed a plug change.
That was one of the weakest passes but the higest on paper. When I changed plugs, leveled out the air/fuel and leaned it out a bit and added 4 more lbs of boost the motor made power to 8200 where I had the limiter start pulling cylinders. Problem was the tires were spinning even harder and throwing more rubber and having a reverse effect on MPH and power readings. The more power I threw at it the more the tires spun. So.... I just used the session to get a nice a/f line and called it a day. I figured I was lucky to even see 1495.6 on a chassis dyno. Heck at one point I was missing over 60 miles per hour due to tire spin. All in all it was a good session for tuning though. The air fuel numbers were more important to me than the dyno numbers.

What was the diameter of the dyno roller if you know?

The reason I ask is because we made a bunch of pulls with Will Stevenson's Drag Radial car on our dyno that were over 1600rwhp and didnt have a problem spinning at all. The tires had 20psi in them too, but we are on a 48" 7500 pound roller on a Dynojet 248H.

Looks like a fun ride though thats for sure :)

    Sorry CutlassRacer,
Don't know much about either of the involved dyno types and manufactured parts.
But, I bet if you look at my Dyno sheet posted it will state the name of the location on the bottom.
If you type that into a search engine you will find the shop. If ya click on the link, you can read all about the different dynos there. There will also be a phone number there. If ya call the number you can find out who dyno'd my car and ask him all about it and how it was done and what rollers it had and how many hampsters were in each roller.
Your buddys car you been touting ran a 7.51 last year right? So why don't we just line the cars up and let the cars do the talkin?
The Super Street Car Nationals are Nov 20-23, 2008 here is the link http://www.streetcarsupernationals.com/.
Come on down, I'll buy ya a beer.
    Lets rock!
