I'm assuming you are refering to a fox with its mechanical gauge and cable. I have never done this but researched a glide at one time and learned the following.

You get a speedo shop to put a Chevy end on your Ford cable. You then have to use various methods (gear boxes, drive and driven gears, etc.) to get the ratio right.

I understand sometimes glides have aftermarket shafts or tail housings or something that don't have provisions for speedos.

These guys have what you need. Don't know if they will deal direct with you but I'd contact their tech gurus and see what I could learn. They can probably at least direct you to a local speedometer shop that carries their products.

BTW, please post up the solution you come up with so the rest of us Ford guys with TH400's won't have to re-create the wheel when we get around to hooking up our speedometers. :2thumbs:

    Good luck.

How do you make it work on a SN95 5.0L electric output gear driven speedo gear style setup?

Speedo makes an electronic adapter that mounts on the transmission then we just plug it in. They will want to know what gear is in the transmission, R/E and tire size.

I just spoke with a gent at speedometersolutions.com and he told me $85 for the electric sensor for the SN95 guys, that just for the sensor, if you have to make a gearing change that will rack it up a few more dollars, sounds like a breeze to setup.

I did this years ago when I had my other mustang it had a powerglide. What I did was I ordered a speedo cable out of a 68-69 Camaro. (Advanced Auto) Then very carefully cut the crimped sleeve off. Did the same on the factory cable (speedo end). Then put the factory mustang end on the Camaro cable and used a hose clamp in place of the crimped end. It worked fine and never had a problem with it.
