I'm helping a buddy wire up a b/t 2.3L turbo Ford and we are pretty close to completion, we just need to figure out how to wire the MSD 6 to the distributor. There are the green and purple wires that come out of the MSD box, what wires do they need to feed into for the distributor? The computer is taken out of the car, is the dis going to need to be hotwired or manually grounded in any way i.e through the actual dis plug?
    Thanks,
    Jesse

Sweet, thanks! So no power/ground is needed to be independently supplied to the dis, just these wires and the rest of the plug can be dead?

OK, no worky...Does the TFI module need any sort of outside power to run? I hooked up the green to the tan/yellow wire (which is the wire that goes to the negative side of the coil) and the purple to the red/green...(that goes to the positive side of the coil and is also a 12v switched hot.) I'm at a loss...with the stock ignition system, these two wires completed the circuit to tell the coil to fire and now they are not...HELP!

Yeah, I posted up in another thread how to do it properly. Look for posts started by me and you should find it, I can't remember off the top of my head.

Bottom wire of the plug goes to a good ground
Second wire from the bottom goes to the white pickup wire on the MSD box
Third wire from the bottom goes to a switched 12V that is hot while cranking, the most popular is the red/green under the dash.
    Enjoy!

    Thanks Jesse

Curious, I have a carbed 2.3 dizzy. I would assume I could lock it up and us that eh?

Is the carbed version up to snuff? Anyone?

yes, for a 2.3, but I think the wiring might be different, I know nothing about factory carb'd 2.3 ignition.
