what are your guys' intake air temperature on your set up?

what turbo/boost/intercooler/ etc etc

i'm curious to see the difference between Air to Air vs Air to Water

i have some data (from other cars) on a Air/Air (with a dry ice intercooler)

A/A= 110-120 F (after intercooler- boosting ~25psi) with dry ice intercooler (20-70 F- depending on size of course)

i'm kind of surprised not many people have kept records of their intake air temps. or maybe it's classified?

23psi with a 106mm
intake temps are between 55-60 degrees

 

I just finished switching from the HP front mount A/A to a A/W n dash. With the A/A on 70* days I was seeing 170-190* temps at the end of the pass with 24# from twin 67's. With the A/W on 100-110* days I'm seeing 98-102* temps at the end of the pass with 24#'s...

spankustang.. what kind of ambient temps did you get those 55-60* temps with on the 106? end of pass or beginning? at the beginning of my pass I see temps in that range but not as I shutdown

yeah spankstang those #'s are pretty good!

 

Air to air, 180-190* inlet temps thru the traps at 17psi in 80* weather. Never tried an air to water.

pretty much the same.. .peak @ 184 a-2-a with pt-88 18 lbs of boost.

 

just runnin two 61's with only 7lbs thru an air to water on a 90* day i get 90 * mass air temp

 

Ambient was close to 90* and it's a under dash intercooler. Beginning of pass was 39* and end of pass was 55-60*.

 

geez thats cold. must be one hella a intercooler.

 

Stock HP intercooler with a GT47-88, 180^ - 210^ at the end of the pass with ambient in the low/mid 90's at 22# of boost.

I upgraded the A/A intercooler with a larger one and in 90^ ambient I see 160^ at the top of the run now, at the same boost.

 

Twin T3/60-1's 355 CID Griffin A/A never got 20* over ambient temp @ 20 PSI spraying windshield washer fluid.

 

Twin 59's on my 4V cobra. 9lbs of boost, max inlet temp was 118 deg this morning with ambient around 90 deg. This was a 2nd thru 4th gear pull. The car has a large A/A intercooler with no meth or H20 injection.

Just logged mine @ 9.6PSI.

86* cruizing and ran through 4th @ 5900-6K and was seeing 91-92*s LOL. That was after repeated runs. An earlier run @ 9.0 PSI resulted in a 3* rise in temps from 3200-6K highway run. HUGE front mount...HUGE. T-61s now on the car.

 

Just got home from the track, ambient was 81* A/W before pass IAT was 54* shutdown was 123* somewhere around 30# extra air. 3575lb boat goes a 5.80@122.
