I just helped a friend with the install of one on a 96 mustang. We had to trim the front of the inner fenders, front lip of the fenders to raise the turbos a little higher, and on 1 side the back of the metal bumper brace.

If memory serves me right. I used a plasma cutter on my wifes car. It was a lot cleaner than the sawzall or air saw. I trimed a little bit where the stock air filter location was and a little bit down by the drain for the turbo. I also trimmed the radiator support on the passenger side for the IC pipes to fit correctly. I believe my kit was some of there first ones so I don't know if much has changed besides the bigger wastegate.

Sorry, Those were the best pictures I had. I know what you mean about cutting things up. My wifes car had 65K on it when we started. I guess you need to decied how far you want to modify from stock and at what price? You can see alot of people run this kit, and many different pictures of installation even on HP's web site. Bottom line to me is take your time and do it right, it will pay off in the long run for a very clean and professional installation. There are many hack jobs out there. Good Luck :D

Look at the B&G kit. Very little cutting. Just for the intake tube. Might even get it faster?

I had to cut a good amount out where the turbo goes. And to tell you the truth I would do it over again in a heartbeat. The HP kit is very easy to work around, changing spark plugs does not require any specialty tools, there is plenty of room in the engine compartment for air circulation, I have no over heating problems. With the size of the tubing that is suplied with the kit you have plenty of room to grow.

If you wanted to go back to stock someday I thik that the stock air filter box would cover up the area that needs to trimmed for turbo clearance.

If you get one I hope that they now have better installation instructions now than back 3 or 4 years ago when I got mine. Good luck. When that boost kicks in you won't care how big of a hole you needed to cut. :chacha:

I was ok with cutting it, I only have 50K on my cobra but the kit was worth every cut and like people have said it is very easy to work around.

I really like how clean the HP kits install looks. You can hardly notice all the plumbing.

Does everything clear with a stock K-member? I have heard some kits need you to run a tubular setup?
