so i just recently finished up my t70 single turbo build on my 4.6 2V and i'm now in the process of rebuilding my 4r70w. would it be a good idea to do an egr delete? if so what are the advantages/disadvantages?

    thanks for any help,
    Gus

if you have to take this car through emissions, then you need to leave it there. if you dont need to go through emissions then you can ditch it if you want to. but seeing is how it does help to lower the temps in the combustion chamber and helps combat detonation you may want to keep it. just my opinion though. im sure there are a lot of people who will tell you to get rid of it.

That depends on a few things:

1.) Does your intake manifold have EGR passages
2.) Do your heads have the provision to support an EGR system? (GT40Ps don't)
3.) How much boost do you plan to run? excessive boost will force the plunger open
4.) Will you run a check valve in the EGR Vac line? If boost gets in there, that weak diaphram ruptures EASILY and will send you hunting for a vaccum leak for months.
