Need some input from "Old Pro's" in the TURBO GAME!

I have decided to take the big step and convert my Outlaw Drag Radial car from Procharger to single Turbo for next season. I really have no practical knowledge of turbos but I know if I don't change up I won't be able to KEEP UP! Looking for some suggestions on boost controllers, waste gates, blow off valves etc. I don't want to buy any junk so keep that in mind with your recommendations please. Looking for some guidance from those of you who have a lot of knowledge! The car isn't a $200000 race car but I want it to be safe and with a decent amount of boost I hope to run some mid sevens. The Ignition is Digital 7 MSD and FAST....Don't know if that makes a difference or not...like I said...I have very little knowledge of turbo setups period. Any and all info / recommendations you can send my way would greatly be appreciated! Thanks in advance for you time to reply!

See what the rules and regulations for your claas are as far as turbo sizing. Go as far as your budget or class will allow. I recccomend any turbo that's a ballbearing unit for you, but those are big bucks as well. If you're going for the budget route, Master Power has a good reputaion and they can be had for a fair amount of money, but i dont know if they make a turbo in the size you need. I saw a nice electronic boost controller on here that was programmable and everything. Wastegates, you cant have too big of a wastegate to my knowledge, and a blow off valve isnt 100% needed for a race car, but it's not a bad idea. Good names are tial, turbonetics, jgs like stated above.

A turbo is the same as a ceterfugal blower in the way it compresses air so i dont think you'll have any trouble getting your feet wet. I also reccomend getting a book or 2 about turbos. I have Maximum Boost by Corky Bell and it's a good book, but it's geared more for street setups.

Otherwise just start reading this and that in the forums and you'll be an expert in no time.

PT91 at least more like 101 or 106 depending upon your combination, E boost 2 boost controller, Vortech super mondo BOV, thats what I would use if I could.

Come down to the World Street Nationals in Orlando in a week and a half, and cruise through the pits. Loose rules = creative combinations.

Don I knew you would go turbo sooner or later.

I figure you will end up with at least a 101mm just based on your past builds. I would stick with Tial for the wastegate and BOV and I agree that with the combo you will be running that you can't go to big on either. Why not talk to Derrick or Dennis and get some input from them.

Remember when you came and got that rear end and I said that I was about to start giving stuff away? Well that time is just about here. Barbie and I are moving to Dallas in a couple of weeks and I am not about to take this stuff with me so if you want to come look through the stuff that I have give me a call or send me a pm on SVTOA.
