i just found out that my big turbo won't feed the bulldog as far as what i want to do with it, i've got a pair of hx30's found and was wondering about how many horsepower would that support. i'll have all 4340 internals, filled block, main girdle, all arp studded and bolted, world motown 220 cyl heads w/ 2.06 1.60 valves, solid roller comp 248/254 @ .050 110 lsa, 653 lift, proffessional products (dart knockoff) intake with 72mm throttle body. i race 10.5 limited with this car and since my nitrous motor took a shit i figure i need to make around 1000 hp to be competitive, will this do it? even close? i'm not against nitrous assisted turbo's either.

 

The only thing I want to say is... 72mm throttle body? I friend of mine is maxing his 80mm throttle body at 450wheel out of a 2.3L

Should it not be bigger?

much as I hate to say it, I think you'll fall short of your goals with the 30s. If you look at most people they're making 450hp with HX-35s from the Dodges and those are a smaller unit. I'd probably sell and look for something like an S400 or TV8101.

 

thanks for the replies everyone, i priced an s400 today and it wasn't nearly as bad as i figured it would be,so i'll probably just go that way. i haven't bought the 30's yet, that's why i was seeking advice, i'm poor white trash and can't afford to do this more than once this winter, i have to make every move count and that's why i'm asking guys that know before i lay down cash. as far as the tb goes i've had my eye on a 90mm, i didn't know if the 72 would do it or not, i was goin to try but i may just step it up after hearing about that 2.3.
