Twin Turbo, 25.5 Fairmont - Midwest Turbo & Performance *5-07-08 UPDATE*

I posted some pics up a few months back but can't find the original thread, so I am starting a new one. The car is a mild steel, minitub 25.5 Fairmont. I have a long way to go but am making steady progress. Hopefully we'll have the engine in in the next few weeks and make it to the track before the end of the season...

I'm only about 6'1" and 230+lbs so getting in and out is a piece of cake ;) ...not
It isn't too bad. I placed the bar high to stiffen things up, however hindsight being 20/20. I might have pushed it down a couple of inches...

No updates yet.. I invested a lot of time to get the car to this point and have had to get three different articles into FSC in the past month. The boss has pretty well banned me from the car for the past couple of weeks. If all goes well, I may get a chance to drop the power plant in in the next week...stay tuned.

Still waiting on turbos... but the fuel system is done, and the headers ar 90% complete (can't finish them until I get the turbos...twin 76's from PTE)

Here are a couple of recent pics. Nothing substantial, but progress nonetheless.

Parts are piling up. I am waiting on the exhaust valves...Once they get here I hope to get the headers and turbos on. If all goes well, I'll have some more pics in a week or two (Going to Bradenton next weekend so I may not get an opportunity to screw it all together until after that...).

For now, here are some pics of the home-built headers (a great way to learn to tig weld..) just back from Jet-Hot (coated with Jet-Hot 2000 Gray) ....

and a pic of one of the yet to be unwrapped PT-76's..

The motorplate is a Competition Engineering from Jeg's.

I thought about getting some of those ford valvecover adapters that the street rodders used to use to disguise their SB Chevy engines in old fords and going with a belt drive distributor and a Jesel belt drive to further confuse the issue.... it might be fun to try and enter some ford races that way...
