Shit that blows. Its a good thing I bought mine from a my local Performance shop. I have been going thier for 10 years. At least I can get some in store credit. Is thier any way you can modify the gaskets to make them work?

There is no way that gasket can be modified to work. You're in the same boat I'm in - my only solution is to sell these to someone that doesn't have Dart Pro1 or Iron Eagle heads.

I just got off the phone with Kevin at Cometic. He said that these new part numbers superceed the old 5325 & 5327 part numbers and are valid for any block/head combo.

    P/N 5877 - 4.060" bore
    P/N 5880 - 4.165" bore

I sincerely hope that this thread can prevent other people from making the same mistakes that I made!

The Fel-Pro MLS gaskets seem to have a bit different coating on them that actually is a bit more tolerant of slightly rougher sealing surfaces compared to the Cometic gaskets. In terms of strength, I'd say that both brands are on a level playing field. We've sold several sets of the Fel-Pro MLS to local guys running N/A, nitrous, and boosted combo's, and haven't had any issues to speak of.

I like the coating on the Fel-Pro MLS gaskets that I decided to use. It feels much "tackier" than the Cometic gasket. Dustin mentioned earlier in the thread about lightly spraying the Cometics with "copper coat" sealer and letting them air dry for about an hour prior to installation. I suspect this will yeild similar results to the Fel Pro MLS "out of the box" coating.
