I started cleaning off the frame.... It's even more of a pain than it looks like. Thanks to Frank5L for the laquer thinner tip, If not i'd probably have just gone insane.

    Thanks!

I'll be painting it friday or saturday probably, i'm gonna try and finish up the frame tommorow with a pressure washer. That last picture was my "test spot" to see how the satin black paint would look. I was kind of dissapointed so I'll go see what other options i have tommorow.

a GT intake, GT intercooler core, and GT bonnet cleared your NVH block? Kick ass! I'm not sure what year my block is...98ish i believe. The GT lower assembly would not fit into the engine/heads...it bottomed out on the valley before sitting flush.

I hope that you're not using rattlecan spray paint. Make sure that you use automotive-grade mix-it-yourself paint. I made that mistake...and the rattlecan paint would come off with a rag and rubbing alcohol. I had a whole thread on it (with photos), but apparently it got lost when this site switched its format last year. I ended up trailering the car to a body shop to have them do it right.

I started using a rustoleum satin black paint....looks like it's not going to hold at all, so i'm buying sandpaper to scuff everything up today and i'll be using either truck bed lines or rubberized undercoating. Almost anything is better than that tar-like gook ford puts on truck frames.

Either use automotive-grade paint, or look into using POR-15. My body shop just sandblasted the entire engine bay and used the same dark, dark charcoal color that Ford used to use on engine bays.

Before this thread gets any further, there is one thing I'd like to say.

I want to dedicate this whole project, and all the blood, sweat and tears going into it to my late friend Vince Perini. You're loved and missed buddy.

    I miss you man :(

    anyways,

Tonight's progress - got the frame rails cleaned off, roughed them up, and primered them. I also bent the brake lines for the ABS delete, but didn't mount them up yet since NAPA had no couplers or tee's, so i'll be wrapping that up tommorow.

If the primer dries up and I can spray the rails tonight i'll post pictures of that too, although i think just waiting for tommorow might be the best plan.
