No I believe california has a visual too which they should spot the kit soon as they raise the car. I believe any exhaust modifications have to have a smog exception number which our kits do not have. As far as I know only Incon had a exemtion on their old kits.

    Thanks,

    Brian,

I emailed you. I'm looking for a turbo kit for my 95gt vert. Can I learn more about getting your new kit?

Technically ANY parts have to be either stock, stock replacement, or have gone through the exemption process which I understand is quite expensive. Here in CA, it doesn't matter if butterflies and oxygen come out of your exhaust, it has to pass the visual also. They check for a cat, check the timing, and even test the gasket on your gas cap! In order to get away with modifications, you have to be a master of concealment. The only way to do thay with a turbo is a rear-mount.

    LOL, yea/no lol.
Look at ours it's quite a bit different. Does yours allow sway bar? Just curious. Looks good though. Plus our headers sweep back and around so smog also stays. Whats the price on that badboy? Also who did you use to do your patent drawings? You have a number I would like to look them over as I have some questions about drawings.

Looks like smog stays on his or do you mean something other than the smog pump and lines in that statement? Sway bar looks like it might be tight on his.

On yours and I think this is my eyes playing tricks on me but someone else noted it to me as well, is that a bracket holding the turbo to the frame rail? Why did you not just reverse mount the shorties? Someone on here built his own low mount and he verse mounted them if I remember right. What will you be doing for oil return?

Twin low mount is what I want on my car, one day when I get enough money together for some JB Weld, DUCK tape and zip ties.

Even though they are facing opposite directions the turbo is in the frame rail area .... DEPENDS ON THE PATENT,word to the wise location of the turbo and mounting area is a patentable item... so you gotta be careful. Just look at the STS kit, you cant mount the turbo in the back area as he has a patent on that, LOCATION and means of mounting.

Yeah sway bar stays and its not that close even when you hang the front tires in the air :) every other accessory stays in the factory spot nothing moves, smog stays in factory location , its $3695 for mild and for the guys in "THE KNOW" the 321 stainless is $4995. Phone number is in the SIG.

Interesting does their patent just apply to individual make/model cars? I know some people doing rear mount turbo kits for 928s of all things.

So basically someone to could get a patent stating the location of the turbo in the engine bay and the mounting being the headers and no one else could manufacture a turbo kit with the turbo in that location or with that mounting?

    That just seems retarded.

Actually No, STS got what they did and how they did because of where it mounts (no one was doing it, and their orginal idea. As for front mount that has been covered by all most all auto manufactures and has been done used up, and when it come time to renew it was dropped. Sp now it is where they call free doman. The only thing this guys patent will cover is how his pipes run and location +/- 1/4 inch. Also bend degrees and angles. Which= buy something change it a hair and go enjoy yourself. I would like to know your patent number though. Is it patent pending or true patent?
    Thanks,
    Brian

All and ours is for 94-95 Mustangs with all accessories including smog and a/c The only thing we had to change was our k-member. No rerouting of anything including a/c or factory wiring.

For a sleeper kit I think it would be hard to miss the headers facing the wrong direction..... Unless it was dark out and the headers were coated black...

The first low mount kits you could buy(that I am aware of) were made by Turbo Engineering and I have seen a couple of those in person and they used headers facing the wrong direction. So long as the headers are not bright and shiny you would be surprised how easy it is to miss that they are facing the wrong way and especially on a car with all the accesories. The guys I knew with those kits suckered in a TON of people street racing because they never clued in that a power adder was there.

And no the intercooler will not be there. That part is patentable and will be ;)

No, that is a dirty ass engine bay :p

I like the low mounted IC's as well because it gets hard not to notice those when under the bumper cover though can be masked Will you be moving the IC down below since you state it will not be where it is in the picture currently? So what about my questions earlier? Was I seeing a brace or was that a trick on my eyes? What are you doing about oil return?

Yes the turbo actually mounts to the Frame and is isolated from the engine twist with a long flex. The oil so far has drained fine, but I may include a sump and pump. The intercooler will not be visable at all and will be a water cooled unit. Most likely using the a/c. So the trained eye will notice the ford van a/c tee going out of the engine bay.... to the core mounted in the antifreeze sump. :2thumbs: That may only be on mine though. As it may add grand or so to the price. I may have it as a option though. The engine bay is in ghetto dirt lol. Part of the ghetto look. Our I/C in the production will be on it's side but not mounted low (to get killed by road debrise, found that in earlier testing) More to come on that shortly.

You must live out in the woods, the original TTI and Cartech kits both had their ICs mounted down low like the T/E, DDMI, and Incon kits were. Now I know of some cases road debri got "sucked up" but I'd have to wonder had the IC not been there what that road debri would have done.

IVe got 88K miles on that belly mount kit, yes some dirt and grime gets in there and yes every year I take the 15 minutes and remove it and wash it. Basically if anything hits the intercooler its goona rip your kmember off too. There are FAR more benefits to a belly mount VS a front mount, thats why I dont use a front mount , been there TESTED it, went slower have the slips to prove it.

Hey Brian we should do a shoot out, our kit against yours :) be a pretty cool comparison I think, we just have to make sure the motors are stock and such.
Nobody else is doing anything testing wise. At least we can share ideas and see what works and what doesn't. Ive got a new
STAGE III SN95 kit thats going to be out soon (in the next month) I could hurry that along and test that .

so far 10.90 @ 130 on pump fuel through a cat on drag radials with a 3500 hundred pound car stock shortblock @ 12 psi
same car ran 11.4x @ 120 pump fuel through exhaust driven to and from the track 88 miles each way. There is a TON left with the Turbo kit, I just don't think the motor will handle it, Im sure you are finding the same thing.
