I've got a 93 Tbird SC with a dart block 347, 83# injectors, 85mm C&L tuner maf, custom turbo system w/ T76-gts, Lentech AOD ect..ect... I'm currently using a 94/95 5.0 Mustang 5 speed EEC and an SCT custom chip. The wiring, distributor, sensors, accesories and everything else under the hood are the same an SN95. The car runs fine at WOT, but has issues at part throttle and idle that appear to be MAF related.

Looking for a shop familiar with turbocharged Fords that can handle the install and tuning of either a Fast XFI or BiggStuff3. If needed I can trailer the car out of town, but would rather have it done locally. Any suggestions welcomed.

Keith seems really popular with the F-body crowd. I'm pretty sure he does the Ford stuff too. Anybody else here use him?

I've never used him, but I hear that he's really good. Never heard any complaints.

Sent you a PM, we are in the STL area and have done many fast Turbo and a few NOS and Supercharged Fords. We run a 6-second Twin Turbo car and have 7+ years experience in the FAST systems.

    Thanks!!

I forgot about you guys. Funny thing, when I lived in NY, you had the best deal on the fast system (about 6 years ago), so I bought it from Hyperformance in STL. Little did I know that 5 years later my job would move me to STL. Anyway, when I bought it, you guys were very helpfull over the phone to get me set up. :2thumbs:

Thanks Grape Ape, ta2slow, and Ten5TBird, hope to see you all at World Ford Challenge??? I know Dan Shipley (who is on this board alot) said he may be there running Wild Street.

And Jeff, you have come a long way from the Drag Radial/Kenne Bell/11 second ride, congrats!!

I hear ya, once you get turbo power, no reason in doing anything else!!

Although some of those 740" 4-Stage Nitrous motors were killer at the ADRL Race!

I would recommend Dan Saitz. I would stay away from Jim Riskovsky and Turbo Connection. I have a lot experience with Jim/TC. Although Jim has good knowledge, and can handle bolt ons and tuning, he is not strong on fabrication or getting things done on time.

If you show up at WFC, I would be happy to help you with your tune, although getting a street car really dialed in requires a lot of time to tweak all the tables. Cold start, initial warmup, dThrottle/dt, etc. all require seat time. I can help you with a base map and getting down the track realtively easy though. We'll be running Wild Street, but I don't think we'll be parked in The Wild Street area. You'll have to hunt me down.

    Dan,

Thanks for the heads up....I've heard the same thing from at least 3 other people today about Jim, including one of his former employees. I'll call Dan Saitz instead.

I'm sure I won't be bringing the turbo car to WFC, but I will have my 3.8 SuperCoupe in the show area. Looking forward to seeing your car and some of the other turbocharged ones run this year.

Just to add, I have NO personal experience with Jim. I have talked to him a few years ago when I lived there but that's my only association with him

I've known Jim for many years, he was running turbo's on mustangs before most had pulleys and K&N's on our cars.

HE has more experience with Turbo Mustangs than alot of us combined. He has built more Street Turbo Mustangs hands down.
He ran so many customers cars into the 11, 10 , 9 and 8 second Zone long long before most even had a clue of what a Turbo on a mustang looked like. Its comments like the one below that I just dont get .

"Although Jim has good knowledge, and can handle bolt ons and tuning, he is not strong on fabrication or getting things done on time."

Im not sure I agree , you make him sound like a parts changer "Good knowledge " hehehehe yeah running 8's on a stock A9L with a MAF in a 3550 pound car yeah i'd say good knowledge. Whateva .

He has 20 + years with turbo applications, 16+ years in turbo mustangs alone and is regarded by many
as the MASTER with Turbo Mustangs. HE had a 9 second mustang before some of us had our drivers license.

FABRICATION what does that have to do with tuning a DFI ?? not sure i get that ?

Done on time ? Some things are worth waiting for, speaking from a personal level I can take a motor to many different shops and get it back in 2 weeks, or I can wait 2 months for Duttweiler to do it. I'll WAIT Done quick or done right ? quality is more important to me but hey to each there own.

Being a shop owner I look at other cars on on the street and compare notes, I can also say what you see at the track is 1 thing, what you see on the street is another. ANYONE can have a FAST RACE CAR , its just a matter of $$$$$. Not everyone can have a FAST street car , it takes knowledge and understanding in maximizing $$$$ on parts that are needed and applying them as well as keeping the "Tune" , keeping the parts alive, and doing it on a budget. What works on a RACE CAR doesnt on a street car. I cant tell you how many RACE CARS got there ass handed to them on the street by little tiny motored tiny turbo'd properly tuned street car.

My point to this whole post .... ITS REAL EASY TO FIND FAULT , but UNTIL you can do What they have done or better on your own !

dont bash. Its just plain not right. Give credit where credit is due, and Jim has alot due .

JIM's black GT ran AWESOME times , so did a RED notchback he built :)

I personally OWN both Jim's Black GT AND the Maroon GT he built for a customer from Texas (which I believe is the 'red notchback' you are referring to), which is now my 8 sec twin turbo street car (built by myself). I have known Jim for at least 10 years, and am familiar with his work and quality, skills and personality. I stand by my earlier comments. The black GT never ran 8s, but it did run 9s with a stock computer and an extender. He has never built an 8 sec car that I know of. If you want to know more, then PM me.
