Hey, I just found this site a few days ago and it's one of the few that isn't blocked at work. I have been lurking and reading tech posts to get an idea of how yall are building turbo systems. I don't have a Mustang (well, I do but it's a '69 fastback restomod) but I plan on turbocharging my truck which is an F150 with the 4.9l straight six. My engine will hit torque before HP, so I'm shooting for 450-ish lb/ft at whatever HP that comes to. There are already a few folks that have done it but they aren't sharing details like computer tuning. Oh, well. One in particular did a stock motor and made 278rwhp and 410lb/ft. I plan to convert to mass air with a '95 Cali or '96 50 state system. I know that I will need to change the programing with either a tuner (Tweeker) or a chip (Diablo, etc). C&L is here in Huntsville and they might be able to hook me up with a MAF meter.

If anyone has any wisdom to impart, I would appreciate it greatly. I'm not doing a V8 swap, either. I'm going to boost my I6 or blow it up trying.

Once you get the turbo on the truck, I predict the Fastback will be next ;) Turbos are highly addictive!

This is very true, I am in the process of mapping out a DIY turbo project right now on my 96 Nissan Maxima after cutting my teeth on my 1990 Mustang GT.

I found a BIO0 computer out of a 95 bronco. I got a tweecer and changed the firing order, # of cylinders, and the displacement. I can't take the truck down yet since it's my only set of wheels. I'm thinking a 60-1 with a .68 - .81 tang turbine (O-trim maybe) will give me the airflow I need at a fairly low rpm. 2000 to 2500, hopefully.
