It's taken me almost two years to do the research and get the parts together for my turbo build up. I'm still waiting on some parts to come in, but here's what I've done so far.

    89 5.0 stock bottom end
    Cnc'd e7 Powerheads
    Steeds No.18 cam
    1.7's
    Performer Rpm intake
    Holley 600dp

Xs power t-61, very very temporary I'll change to an MP t-70 when the compressor comes unglued...
Xs power 46mm wastegate 8 psi spring
    Oringed EV bonnet
    BBK 255lph inline Efi pump
    Mallory fpr 3/8"feed, 1/2" return

Just your basic car pics nothing specific to the turbos. When I am done with the 68 fastback I am planning on getting a cougar. I just haven't decided on the 1st or 2nd body style.

Those hedmans fit pretty well don't they? I'll never forget the day I decided to try them flipped. All of sudden my project got some motivation because I realized I didn't have to make full headers. It's funny too because before I decided on the turbos after I had purchased the headers just to get some exhaust for my non-running project car. I figured they were cheap and having had long tubes on my 67 with a z-bar I figured shorties would be much easier to install. It turns out there was a typo in their catalog and I came to find out they didn't fit stick cars because of the Z-bar. But of course I couldn't return them because it was past the 90 days by the time I went to install them. I had almost sold them on ebay a couple of times but for some reason I kept them. It worked out well in the end.

Hopefully this spring they will have exhaust flowing through them.

Looks sweet. I like the wheels and stance, at least what I can tell of it. You might want to rethink the dual plane intake with a blow thru. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the blow thru gurus highly recommend against using dual plane intakes. Anyway, cudos for doing something different, I dig it.

I had a 351 Cleveland which had problems. I bought the 5.0 motor from my buddy for $300 and I was tired of long tubes always scraping, so I got the shorty's, just to get the car going again. I sure lucked out because they do fit great facing forward!

I really like this particular body style Cougar, I'm able to fit 315/35/17's on the rear with almost 1 1/2" until the leaf spring. I stuck them on a 9" rim, but they bulge too much so I'll get some 10.5"s later. It also came stock with a 9" rear end, disc brakes and power steering, which I have removed. I do body work every once in a while. When it's done, all of the side markers will be gone as well as the drip rails and emblems. I have already done some of the work. I love California weather, humidity is next to nothing, no rust. I'm also getting fiberglass bumpers which will be painted to match the body. The before pic of the motor was before I rewired the car, I got rid of the ugly stuff. Oh yeah the car will be Sonic Blue!

I'm going to run a 3" dp for now, It's going to go straight down near the crank pulley and then go back near the starter under the steering.

That is one "cool cat". Yeah I know that was lame but I am a dork and am not afraid to admit it.

I really dig those side mirrors. It has the perfect stance and that thing will badass when its painted.

The gauges are the Autometer Ultra-lite. You can get them almost anywhere. I got mine from Summitracing. I made the bezel out of 1/4" gloss black acrylic and some hole saws.

I had to use 1 1/4" bolt on spacers to make up for the back spacing all the way around. I see companies like Steeda advertise these spacers for track cars to give them a wider track width for handling, so I feel safe using them.

Re: 70 Cougar turbo project * update*

I have just about finished my downpipe, and also the y to connect the exhaust. I'm running my old slowmasters to save some money. I'll redo the exhaust later with better mufflers. It should be running pretty soon. I'm leaving the pipes unpainted for now. I'm going to drive around like that for a while then the engine is coming out for rings and bearings. I'll weld up any of the leaks at that time, then I may paint the pipes or have them coated, I'm not sure which one yet. This is definitely the most exciting project I have done so far!
