    OK I have read and read and finally a question... What do you guys think of this set up?

    1) 331 dart iron eagle (eagle forged internals 8.5:1)
    2) TF heads
    3) turbo cam (any suggestions)
    4) Holley 950 commander
    5) TF intake
    6) GT42 1.01ar
    7) Custom headers 1 5/8" -> 2.5" collecter merged with 2.5" crossover pipe 4" downpipe
    8) air to air ic (any suggestions)
    9) transmission -> c4 or Tremmec
    10) 3:55 or 4:10's
    11) upgrated fuel system incl press reg

    My goals: Hp 750 RWHP, somewhat streetable ;), quick spool time nothing over 3500 rpms, weekend warrior (not to much street time), and 3200 lb car.

    Am I on the right path? I know I need a good tunebut what else? Thanks for the help!

    everything sounds good but, I think the 1.01 might spool a bit slow compared to a .96. I had a .96 with a 76mm turbo and a 331. the car didnt make boost till after 3000 but I had a 4500 stall so that wasnt a problem.
    For turbo cars, unless you want to spend big money on a pro shifted standard I would recommend a C4.
    I dont know much about the GT42's. I know for sure a 76gts would be more than enough and would give you plenty of room to grow. You say you only want 750 but Im more than sure you will want more later.
    Im not sure about that Holley commander system. In my opinion I would stick with one of the more recongnized systems like AEM,Fast or one of the other ones. I know they are a bit more but you get what you pay for. Im tuning an AEM system now and love the features. There are alot more I would like to see but they are working on them now.
    As for camshaft, Cam Motion is supposed to be really good at picking and grinding turbo cams. I havent used one of their turbo cams yet but will probably go that route when I finish my twin t-70mm setup.
    Hope this helps

    everything sounds good. a 74 or 76 will easily do the job. as for the heads... TFS are awesome heads and will easily flow enough to make that power. I have heard of guys running9's with box stock TFS.
    I ran a 38mm tial with my innovative 76mm which made 750 at the crank and didnt have any boost creep. Their should be no problem with that.

    What would a 74 or 76 set me back? new/used Should I stick with an AR of .96 or so? Assuming this would give a better spoot time, around 3000 rpm? Thanks!

    Brand new.. somewhere around 1300 for a 74mm and around 1400 for a 76gts. I think I remember someone saying that Jose at induction motorsports was selling the 76gts for 1295 or so. but that was a while back. I highly recommend spending the extra money on the 76GTS. that turbo makes alot of power. LIke I said, it will give you room to grow. that turbo is good for 1150hp. And yes, for a 331 I would stay around .96. My 331 made max power at 6500rpm with that hot side. Just get a 3500 or so stall for your transmission.
    With my setup the turbo spooled really quick.

    Why? A 302/306 rotating assy. is the same price as a 331 or 347 kit, and with the 331 you'll make more power at less boost, spool the turbo quicker, make more torque, and more average power for a faster car. Unless he's limited by a class he has no reason not to run a 331 or a 347.

    Its all about the cam and heads. When you keep it 302 the whole combo will be better matched (if he uses stock or e cam).
    Its a simple way to get to his goal.
    Sure, he will have to use a tad more boost, but at that level, pump gas alone wont cut it.

    Just my opinion.
