Here is the new main harness from the dominator box going through the firewall. Brad Nagel is doing a nice clean professional install.

So it is now May 8th 2019 and I'm going to give you a little update about the car.

Back in November 2018 the car was completely rewired. I spent the next several months taking my time over the winter months installing a brand new 8.8 set up along with having torque box's all welded up with reinforcement kit. I also bought a set up M/T Steet ET R tires and Viking Double adjustable shocks along with UPR upper and lower control arms. It turned out super nice and I was happy with the way it all looked. I finished all that work late March.

By April 20th 2019 I had put roughly 250 miles on the new wiring harness, rear end & tires.

Also on April 20th one night in Mexico the motor let go of itself. Looking at the datalog it was making 11lbs of boost and I was on 93 octane.

Car tuned by the same idiot that messed up my wiring install. Matt Bell of redline motorsports in Bloomington Illinois. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THAT GUY AND HIS SHOP!

What were your actual AFR's and commanded timing when stuff went bad?

Also - Sorry to see this, loved following this build. Awesome car.

Timing table is above the engine carnage pics. Looks like at 11 psi, he was commanding 28 to 29 deg on 93. That's a little high for me. That's way high.
OP, post a pic of your target A/F table

Yeah, looks high, seems like e85 timing...

That timing is pretty aggressive even for e85. Look at 20 psi range 23 degrees of timing, That table is barely pulling timing. Sucks man, you have alot of good parts in this build.

The datalog showed everything was following what the ECU was telling it too. Thru the pull it was at 11.9 AFR

So are you running out of fuel? What's the log say fuel pressure was at?

Fuel Schuel, no fuel would have survived that timing map. SBF with TFS heads aint going to tolerate that on 116 octane unless it's got some major bleed from the cam.

100% agree timing is what broke those pistons not fuel.

Not where I was going. If he is commanding 11.5 but it is seeing 11.9, then he has another issue that may take the next engine out if it isn't remedied. I'm always looking at the big picture. Timing killed it, but surprised it only took the one piston out.

There are multiple pistons that show marks or nic's in them. I removed the other head off and there is also damaged piston tops. Looks like smeared melted spots or nic's . I'm not really sure how to describe it.

In the datalog holley was correcting fuel by a very very small amount. It was following 11.9AFR as how Matt Bell of redline motorsports set the car up on the dyno

Ok, so previously you said it was calling for 11.5 but seeing 11.9, now you're saying it is calling for 11.9?
Just make sure the fuel pressure maintained around 51 psi to insure the fuel system is working as it should.

When a piston melts, it goes thru the entire engine in my experience. Make sure to clean the intake manifold out thoroughly

No if you go up and reread what I typed. I was telling you how it was 11.9 but at 18lbs of boost it drops to just 11.5 AFR. But car never see's that much boost. Most it ever see's is 11-12lbs that's it.

There are metal piston chips all under the intake on the engine block.

I can send you the datalog if you would like to check it out. The fuel pressue hits 54psi but it isn't rock steady PSI it goes from a steady 32psi at 3k rmp while I was in 2nd gear waiting for the 3 honks. Then starts to go up rapidly to lower 50's psi. I watched the AFR's and its moves around a little bit. I can email it to you if you would like to see it.
