Been a while since an updates. Been fighting lifter issues, made a short hit in late Sep and ended up busting a rocker stud in the head. Ended up getting a set of Morels and everything seems to be working well. Got a chance to get the car out to the track on Thursday and finally got my 8 second timeslip and backed it up twice. Looks like I got some more room, but the season is probably over up here. now.

Thanks guys. Was hoping the weather might improve enough to get one more day at the track, but no dice. Got it shut down for the winter now and and starting my plans for some minor changes and hopefully be ready to rock again in the spring.

I was reading back threw your thread, i seen you had some issues with the magnafuel fuel filters running e85. I had the same thing happen to me on e85 & the same filters, Were you ever able to pin point the issue, was it e85 related?

Never found out a specific cause for my fuel system becoming contaminated. Might have been a bad batch or some sort of contamination from something else. Regardless, I made the switch away from e85 and to a 93 octane tune for the street and a c16 tune for the strip.

Thanks. Photobucket has ruined the pics in threads. I have tons but can't post them anymore.

Little update, took the car out on Black Friday as the weather took a turn for the better. On my first run a valve hung open on cylinder one and I wrecked the motor again. Hopefully have it up and running again by spring,

Sorry to hear this. You and Tony are having a pretty bad year.

What heads do you have? Do you think the seat came out causing all the damage or something else?

Thanks guys. James the heads are Edelbrock Performers (6032-9), that are ported. Our assumption is that it was the seat that came loose and caused the issue, but have no idea why that happened.

Not sure of the company, it's who my engine guy uses. The guy was out with the flu for like 30+ days over the winter so it took forever to get done. Just got that finished pic yesterday.

    Wow! That's amazing!
Most of us after the depression wore off, would have chucked the heads but as you mentioned you have porting done to them so what you had done make$ total sense.

It was a difficult decision, but we calculated I would save $$ over getting new heads. New heads would have been ~$2k and I would probably have had to get new springs, pushrods etc. and then re-tune the car. We are upgrading the valves and if money allows I'm looking at getting some shaft mounted rockers.
