Thinking about just getting a couple of these instead of fixing mine.

I'd stick with a Master Power or do a GT45..

Not an option. I have the existing kit already built. I'm not willing to change over to a single. I really don't even want to consider swapping to a T4 flange. Whatever I run needs to stay on a T3 foot. Now... MP does have a T3/T4 turbo, but it's like $650/ea. Not reasonable.

Subscribing to this bad boy! Always loved that body style... The T-birds as well! I had dreams of twins in the trunk. (and I don't mean hookers!)

The 60-1 turbo you posted only has a 55mm inducer. That’d be on the small side IMHO. Pretty small exh wheels as well.

I go with one of these… they look cool with the surge housings as well. ;)

Or One of these will do wonders…

Agreed!!! I haven't seen one with that large of a compressor.. I almost don't believe them! Those look cool, but I need a 5 bolt housing as that's what the kit is built for now and I don't want to change just yet.

No way will I convert it to a single with T4. Not until I exhuast my efforts with the twins.

I mean.. The kit ran awesome on my other car with a stone stock motor. It was a street terror! Now on this new motor i'm expecting probably another 75-100hp just from the better heads, cam, etc. etc. So comparing my stock T3 turbos to the ones I listed above should be a pretty big bump in power potential shouldn't it? What is my current inducer size? Maybe 42mm???

I just recently looked again at the maps for my turbos. At least.... I'm assuming mine are 60 trim?

Anyways, looking at the maps for what I already have, I thought that they would be dang near perfect for what I am running. I would worry that these larger compressors would be out of the sweet spot for my engine size and RPM. Thoughts???

Thanks for your help with this!!! I will be the first to admit that i'm terrible at picking out a good turbo for a given combo.

The better heads, cam, etc are going to require much more turbo than you previously had. The motor is moving more air and will require a larger turbo to keep up. I really believe the gt35 clones I listed are right up your alley. I'd go with the cheaper .63 housings in the link I posted above. Then order a cheapy rebuild kit on your others and sell them off or keep them as spares. I'd also suggest pulling the cheap china turbos apart, I found metal shavings in my CXracing 72mm. Other than that it's worked great.

The install of the ign box is how I have done amp installs for years though I use real thin plywood, seems smart people think alike! Lincoln looks good, any progress on the red one?

I shot the red one several times with my EBR. Looks lighter with all the bullet holes!! Other than that no progress at all. More... regress.

Agreed on the smart people comment. I started putting the ign box in the trunk just to clean up the engine compartment. And since I generally had the battery mounted in the trunk is simplified the wiring a bit. I use 16/4 SO cord to run the ign wires front to rear.

Not that the install doesn't look great. Wouldn't there be a huge amp drop running 16g wire the length of the car? Isn't the point of a CDI to get more voltage/amperage to the coil? (could be totally wrong here)

No concerns with the amp draw. I've run this set up on several cars with no issues up to 24# boost. I think it's OK.

Ready to pull the trigger on some new turbos. Pulled mine apart last night and the one that I felt needed rebuilt has some light scratches on the shaft. They have different compressor side seals and backplates. I think i'll put in a good rebuild kit and keep them as spares. The wheels aren't dinged enough to worry about IMHO.

I've contacted the seller on the links that Forcefed86 posted above and i'm trying to combine shipping on a pair of those GT35 clones. I hope they don't suck!!

WHAMMY!!! Just talked to them. $480 shipped if I buy them outside of ebay. I think that's doable. If I rebuilt mine they should be worth a couple hundo.
