It is all one color when done.

The time and money spent on regular paint some people would rather spend on performance parts. I don't think I would do a whole car with plasti-dip as a permanent alternative to real paint. In my case I can see how my rims would look without doing anything permanent.

If I had an expensive new car that I drove year around up here in the ice and salt, I would consider applying the Plasti-dip to protect the paint in the winter.

If you can't see the value in a $200 "paint job" making a bad paint job look good again, then I don't see the point in discussing it. If everything has to be perfect before you'll like it then you better have your work truck looking like a Ridler winner or it just makes your case pointless.

Holy shit, someone understand's the concept!

I can't afford the $2,000 paint job I want... So in the mean time, I'm doing this to make the car at least uniform, the less then $200 price is just icing on the cake.

I get the thought behind it, but is it gonna be a royal PITA to get off, like undercoating? Or is it the kinda thing you can literally peel off? This sounds like a good solution to my three color daily driver.

It peels right off. I will say my brothers 03' cobra 10th anniversary wheels were done when he picked up the car and it was a pain peeling it off all the angles of the spokes.

Goo gone and a microfiber towel and it comes right off.

I can see the value of a cheap paint job, don't need everything to be perfect, hell my F250 I don't care what it looks like I have it for the function. I fully understand striving for minimal cost when it comes aesthetic on a budget project but think there are better alternatives with a better result for about the same amount of money. An inexpensive paint job from Maaco or Earl Scheib, for instance. Their low end specials start about $200 and if you're willing to do a minimal amount of prep like masking and wax stripping yourself it'll turn out better than they normally do it (good masking is where they seem to have their biggest issues). For a budget project they are decent option.

Macao is permanent more or less. If you could peel it off when you got Tired of looking at it then maybe it would be a better option.

Sorry, I'm 100% with Ken. Wheels and stuff? Whatever, but if you want an entire car to look dull and shitty and only last a few years, you can accomplish that with .99/can primer and have $300 left over to spend on the vice of your choice. Since I am lazy, I'd personally go for the $249 messicano special paint job and not have to lift a finger. Who cares if it's 'permanent'? If a car's paint is already trashed or is multi-colored, it's still a gigantic improvement. Then again, I hated the matte car fad too....glad to see it's reaching the end of it's 15 minutes.

i haven't seen it done in person. another guy on a forum did his mustang. when he peeled it off, the paint was scratched all to hell. not sure if it was the plastidip or the way he removed it.

cool for small stuff, stupid for the entire car

He sure is. I knew i should have never posted this, it's intent was to show how crazy some people are and the crazy shit they will do to there cars. Having painted cars for most of my life must make me look at this from a different angle i guess. But it's still stupid in my book.

Any links to articles written about your car and all of the awards you've won with it? It must be amazing.

I'll be sure to take lot's of pic's of my car when it's done, unless you wanna foot the $2,000 paint job for me.
