Yeah I got base timing set to what crank timing is set at on the HP. Been raining here everyday the last week so hope it clears out by this weekend so maybe I can get that video you keep asking for lol. Any more progress on yours Anthony? And how long do I need to drive it around before getting into boost?

Before you pull the transmission out, check stuff like the back of the intake and valve covers. If you have oil leaking from there, it will drip down and look similar to a rear main leak.

Hop it clears up for you weather has been mid 80's all week here in Chicago. My base timing was not set on mine it was a bit RETARDED. LOL. I drove mine around a lil and kept progressing into boost I hit 12 lb fairly easy. I have to change my wg spring. I will tell you one thing even though it was retarded 10* it moved out crazy. I will be setting my timing soon. :2thumbs:

Good idea, I hope it's just a valve cover, that would be much easier to fix. Someone else said it could be the oil pan also but I think I would rather it be the main then the pan. The pan looks like a pain in the ass to pull. I'm going to try to get under it tonight to check it out. I'll let y'all know what I find.

Worked on the car a bit tonight. Finished getting the fenders and fender liners installed as well as the front bumper. Then started looking for this oil leak. I did not see anything leaking from the back of the intake or valve covers so started to look under the car. The only think I could find with oil on it without pulling the trans was an oil pan bolt. The last bolt on the back of the block on the passenger side that is the bigger size bolt had oil on it like it had been dripping from it. I did not see anything else leaking from the rear. I'm not sure why it was like that, it was tight when I checked. I just pulled the bolt out and put some sealer around it and put it back in. Could not start it up to see if it worked because its late at night and car still has no mufflers so I'll try it out in the morning. Also when i was putting the fender liners on, I noticed that my damn rack and pinion has started leaking from both sides so I'll try to pull that tomorrow as well get just get a new one.

My torque box reinforce kit and the lower box wolfe plates came in today so I'm wondering if I should pull the rear out again now or just leave it for now so I can get it on the road quicker. Don't plan on going to the track any time soon, can the boxes get screwed up driving on the street also? Should I go ahead and do it all now?

Finally got it off the Jackstands and out for a drive!!! Drove it down the neighborhood streets and when all was well went to the muffler shop to get the exhaust finished up. Didn't feel like waiting for more parts to do it myself. Weird thing was after the mufflers were put on I could hear some weird noise which sounds like its coming from the transmission area. Maybe the flywheel rubbing on something, not sure. Will get it back on the stands this weekend so I can take it out for a real drive. Also its still getting hot so I got a new fan coming that I got off of EBay. On my drive to the muffler shop I could not resist so I got into it just a bit, only 1 or 2 lbs of boost and the turbo already started to sing! I was pumped but did not want to get into it to much just yet. Maybe this weekend if this damn rain stops.

Finally of the stands and in the driveway. I know I need to wash it, its been almost two years!

Video of first drive. I know the video sucks but it was hard to hold camera, drive and shift at same time. Longer ones will be up soon as I can.

Video after the Mufflers. The noise is damn loud, got to figure out what it is.

very nice build you have here, how are you liking the Holley HP ? I see you are in Htown, what area? i'm not that far, i'm about 90 miles east, outside of Bmt. anyway, i bet this setup is going to run hard, what trans are you thinking about going with? once the five speed starts giving you trouble?

Thanks! Loving the Holley so far. Have not had any problems with it yet and it's really easy to use. Yeah I'm on the westside of Houston, I-10 @ 610 west. Some friends and I are planing a trip to the track in Baytown soon, I'll let you know when if you feel like coming out. After the 5 speed goes I'll be going with a th400. Out of the budget right now so will take it easy on the TKO for now.

I got a few more pics and videos I'll post up later tonight.

Have done a few changes since last update. I got my fan in. I went with a Taurus fan, got it off of eBay. I was not sure how I wanted to wire it up so I just ended up going with a big ass solenoid. Don't know what its really for but its good for 150 amps and can handle 300 amps start up. I didn't need to trim the fan shroud at all, just cut a mounting tab that was on the top. On the bottom of the fan shroud there was an opening where it was not going to make contact with the radiator. I didn't want it to just be sucking air from the open area so I cut out some sheetmetal and just bent it to the curve of the shroud to close it off. I then put weather stripping all the way around where it makes contact with the radiator to help it seal a little better. Before the fan change, just a idle in the garage it would get up to around 205 deg and while driving it once got up to 224. With the new fan on the first start up it got up to 180 which is were I had set the Holley ecu to turn it on. Then the temps dropped too 175. This was with the fenders and bumper off so was not sure how well it would do on the street.

After putting it back together I took it for a drive and all looked good. It was staying around 185- 190 so I drove it a little harder and it got up to 207. After that It would not come back down under 200 deg. But I guess I can live with 200, better than the 224 it was at before. I am going to try a 160 deg thermostat and see if that helps at all.

Also while I had the fender off I wanted to hook up the 2 step. I ended up hooking it up to the washer bottle motor harness. When I push the switch in the car it sends 12 volts to the harness but I needed a ground trigger so I just used a relay to switch the polarities. I started out setting the 2 step at 2500 just to make sure it was working. Then went to 3500 and it built 5psi the first time I tried it. When I did a video it only about about 3 or 4 lbs but its just so damn loud when it starts to backfire that I just couldn't make another video because I'm sure my neighbors were starting to hate me! I'll get another one when get it out in a parking lot.

Also on wiring the input/outputs on the Holley HP. The input/output harness is like $65.00 from Holley but I made my own for $7.50 :chacha:. Anyone wants the like to the site I used to buy the stuff let me know and I'll find it.

    New fan mounted.

Very nice build man. Im working on one similar now, had to ditch my 4.6dohc because there wasnt enough room for the turbo in my 69 mach1. Im using the 1969 block so mine wont be a roller. Holley HP was easy to install? What was the cost if you dont mind me asking.

Yes Hp was really easy to install. I think it was right at $1600 for mine. That is without the LCD touch screen.
